Longhouse Wedding Highlights 2017

What a busy few months it has been at the Longhouse with 15 wonderful weddings since March. While every single one of them was totally unique we found that there were some quirky themes and decoration ideas that repeated themselves to excellent effect and we’ve chosen some of our favourites to help inspire.

Repurposed Pallet

It’s always helpful  to provide a running order for the day to give your guests an idea of what is happening and when.  Several of our couples used a pallet with beautiful chalked letters which married rustic with elegant beautifully.

Outdoor Aisle Decorations

Sometimes it can feel daunting to decorate an outdoor space, especially a garden with all its flowers and leafy greens. Several of our couples decided to hang mini bouquets along our outdoor aisle which brought even more colour and beauty to the garden and was a lovely way to add a unifying colour theme to the great outdoors.

Recycled Jars

We are big fans of recycling at the longhouse and love how many of our couples incorporated reused jars into their decoration plans. Whether they were used as tealight holders or vases each wedding customised the humble jar and elevated it to a new special purpose.

Naked Tables

More and more couples are looking to have a more informal wedding day, keeping dining casual with naked tables and sharing platters. This stripped down look made the room feel super fresh and contemporary as well as a little Danish in design.

We have had some wonderful weddings this year, in fact every wedding has been gorgeous, unique and fun. And we have been delighted to see how our space has inspired our brides and grooms to decorate their day just how they want. Every single wedding has been perfect in its own way and we have felt privileged to help host each one of these very special days.
