If you are looking for a stylish, contemporary country wedding venue for your very special day, The Longhouse at Mill on the Brue in Bruton, is the place. It can comfortably seat 130 guests and overlooks stunning views of the Brue valley. The Longhouse is made of wood and glass, in muted colours, designed and built to extremely high environmental standards winning The Green Apple award for environmental architecture.

We have a license for civil marriages to take place in the beautiful wine cellar of the adjoining Victorian farmhouse seating up to 60 guests or in The Longhouse for larger ceremonies up to 130 guests.

The entire venue set in 20 acres, is yours from 11:00 am 12:30 am. We understand that there needs to be sufficient time in order to prepare and enjoy the occasion. As part of the hire charge we offer the bridal flat at the top of the farm house which can act as a convenient place to change before the ceremony or to stay the night of your wedding.

St Mary's in Bruton is our local church only 10 minutes walk away. We can provide B & B accommodation on site for a minimum cost and provide a list of recommended places to stay in Bruton and the vicinity. We also recommend makers of beautiful wedding dresses, quality proven caterers, artistic flower arrangers, photographers, honeymoon travel, hat hire, - even a string quartet and a speech writer!

The Longhouse at Mill on the Brue is on the south Somerset border 5 miles from both Dorset and Wiltshire. It takes roughly 2 1/2 hours from London in the car or 2 hours by train direct from Paddington (Castle Cary station is our nearest station 5 miles away). Alternatively Bristol and Bath are only 1 hour away.
